Beer

Lay off Fuckers! I have been busy!

Welcome to another Sunday Evening post from Carbunkle Trumpet/Paul Allen where he may (or may not) have been enjoying some Sunday Funday while he was compiling this.  Anyway I have still have a couple posts brewing and I will do better this week but here are some pics I have that I can share with you;

moments_08_03_18_03_32These are the faces of people who were tormenting me last week. I will get you all back, I promise.

IMG_3950Booze may or may not have been drank at this joint this week. TQ you were missed. Next time!

IMG_3933Note to Self – NEVER EVER EVER FUCKING PISS OFF NOVA! Seriously this is some funny shit and I will wear it on occasion up here in Liberal New York!

IMG_3948Yes I posted the same pic again from the Featured Picture! Congrats to my Bar Wife on getting gainful employment up here in the North East! I can’t wait to hear her bitch about the winters up here. She doesn’t know what she is in for up here.

And yes folks it is Elvis Week! *EP gets his own billing*

IMG_3946Always impressive

IMG_3902Again I am not on a Fucking BBQ Team! By the way to my 21 readers – please tune into the Food Network on Tuesday night for the BBQ Edition of Chopped. I happen to know “A Guy” on that show!

IMG_3928These two may be the reason that I didn’t post much last week. Love them both to death but never get into a Vodka Drinking contest with them. Nobody will win!

Have a good week and I promise I will do better this week.

Random Ass Pictures from Philly, Memphis and some current ones

In a months time we have;

  1. Gone to Philly for a 3 year olds birthday party.
  2. Gone to Memphis for a 1 year olds birthday party and baptism.
  3. Moved from the UES to Downtown Brooklyn.
  4. Mrs. Trumpet got a graduate degree from NYU.
  5. Mrs. Trumpet started a new job and career.
  6. Found a couple bars here in Brooklyn that serve Bud Light.

That’s a lot of shit if you ask me! Here are some pictures from those exploits in no particular order.

IMG_3181Momma and her wings! She did inform me that she really liked the Doctorial Robes and considered going for that. I don’t see the humor in that.

IMG_3186After Graduation, Lunch, and some shopping we decided to take a little nap.

Hope that everyone is recovering from BBQ Fest.

The things you see running the marathon

Like I said earlier this week if you have never witnessed a Marathon it is a special time. The New York Marathon is a huge and as Katherine Switzer said; “If you are losing faith in human nature, go out and watch a marathon.” She hit the nail on the head with that comment.  Below are some funnier costumes we saw this past Sunday.

IMG_2111The Blues Brothers braving the rain on 1st Avenue

IMG_2110Wizard of Oz runners. S/O to the St. Jude Hero in the back of the picture

IMG_2109Dude don’t fucking Marathon and Text! That is Rule 2 behind ‘get nipple guards’

IMG_2101Um ok, I get it Mario

IMG_2100Yo Luigi, you better get your ass in gear, you be running second

IMG_2112She.Is.Wearing.Flip.Flops.For.A.Marathon. Yes saw that too!

IMG_2098I can’t really give them grief because if I ran this far I would be wearing a Tu-Tu also

IMG_2097In the middle of the 2 yellow shirt runners is a blind person. How cool is that!

IMG_2088Viva France!

IMG_2081Ok, I will bite, I guess that the other superheroes took the day off

IMG_2079Didn’t know it was a formal affair!

IMG_2078Running Aztec or is he a Mayan.

IMG_2072Don’t mess with his Tu-Tu

IMG_2080He must have lost a bet

andi and joNow the 50K runners who finished the marathon got a medal but these two were the real MVPs of the Marathon. They kept us in ‘bottled water’ after the Quitter Bus went by. Love me some J & A!

Have a good evening, it is supposed to be cold tomorrow!

FDNY Emerald Society Pipes and Drums Prom

Unless you have been living under a rock you would know that we know a couple “guys” in the band. We have been known to run into them at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel for events and even on the banks of the Mississippi River. A couple of weeks back when we went to Boulud Sud with the Murphranks afterwards we went for drinks. During our discussion on the lack of Irish Bars in Manhattan (inside joke) we we decided to book a couple seats at the forenamed title’s prom.

The event was in Flushing Queens which if you didn’t know is also where the US Open Tennis tournament was being held. Drinks and light apps were held in one room while we were treated to a very nice 3 course meal with wine service. Oh and naturally there was open bar service that could sedate a small village. Thanks to Mr. 3 First Names and Lady Barrister for the invite. We had a blast hanging at the table and felt like a Mac Truck hit us on Saturday too!

IMG_1597Very Nice Invitation as compared to an evite or group text

IMG_1613You got to have the boys play the pipes and beat on the drums

IMG_1603Meanwhile Rafa was kicking the absolute shit out of DelPotro on the Arthur Ashe Court

IMG_1604The iconic World Fair Display from back in the day.

IMG_1643Not sure what is going on here but I had no idea that Skippy was so ‘folically challenged’

IMG_1654Like I said, it was a good night as we found this on the nightstand Saturday Morning!

It was good to see everybody and have everyone dressed up too!

A Labor Day Public Service Announcement from CBT regarding Brewery Tours.

I will get the Public Service Announcement at the end. So yesterday we decided to take our show on the road and head to the Mean Streets of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. I know what you are thinking, no we didn’t go to the diner that “2 Broke Girls” worked. We headed over the 59th Street bridge and made our way to Brooklyn Brewery.

Brooklyn Brewery was started in 1988 by Steve Hindy who was an amateur brew master who learned how in Saudi Arabia. He came back and founded with his downstairs neighbor. Starting out he got a brewery to in upstate New York to make his beer and keep up with demand. Currently they have plans to relocate their main brewery from Utica, New York to a 200K square foot facility on Staten Island. Ok, enough words, I will get to the pictures.

IMG_2204Mash Tanks Where the Magic Happens

IMG_2203Shiny Pretty Tanks

IMG_2201Of course we have to have a guy wearing skinny jeans and a beard give us the tour in Williamsburg.

IMG_2199The Tour was pretty informative and we got to drink our beer while on it.

IMG_2200The Bottling Department

Oh and as far as the Pubic Service Announcement? Make sure that you schedule some down/quiet time the next morning after a Brewery Tour. Holy Headaches Batman!

Pictures of the Week and from Grand Rapids

I have a strict rule with “You Mean to Tell Me That You Don’t Have Sweet Tea” in that I won’t take anyone’s picture without further approval as I respect everyone’s privacy.  I had someone ask me a while back “I have seen pictures on your blog of whom I think is the Asian Fireman but he doesn’t look Asian to me?” as I even change names to protect the innocent. Another scruple that I have is that I won’t take a picture of someone who has over imbibed and can not safely operate heavy machinery.

That being said, of the 75 pictures I took in Grand Rapids I can only use maybe 5 of them and who wants to see pictures of people just waking up. Well even 2 of those are subject so here is a rather small offering of pics from this past weekend.

PS – When is it going to get cooler in this God Forbidden Hot Box called Manhattan? I am looking at you ML, RP, JM, DS, JL, EL, LZ, FZ, and a few others! We left the south because of this weather!

IMG_1922Those are two good looking SOB’s if you ask me! I bet they were in the same Fraternity too!

IMG_1879Stop One – It was early, we maybe only had a case of Mimosa’s and this was the first beer @ Founders

IMG_1886I think this was the former Funeral Parlor now turned Brewery. They have A LOT of Breweries in Grand Rapids.

IMG_1910We took a Sand Dune Buggy Ride on Sunday!

IMG_1912Not sure what we have here but Benita is a getting her Senior Pictures taken.

IMG_1915Don’t let her small size and stature fool you. She will keep you up late!

IMG_1917Ingenious! They have heated streets in Michigan! We need that here! Or at least Air Conditioned streets!

IMG_1905Sherwin Williams must have had a special on Battleship Grey Paint Exterior.

IMG_1904Oh there were ZERO lies being told around this M’Effer each night!

IMG_1966BTW – We haven’t even left LGA’s parking lot as of yet. Get your shit together! *Pay no attention to those puffy fingers, it was the flight I tell you. Not 3 days with Uncle Tito!

Thanks to S&K for a great weekend! We can’t wait to get you up here!
