EGP

Trip to Rhode Island To See EGP

When we were in Memphis for Thanksgiving we ran into EGP, Cali-Sab and the Waffle House Girl. Since EGP and Cali-Sab had visited New York a couple of times we figured that it was only fitting that we return the favor and check out their University. Mind you I had tasked CS with letting us know when was a good time in the fall to visit but she saw something shiny and forgot. #OneJob

We decided that their Senior Swim Meet would be a fun time and we promised not to paint our chests and embarrass them. “You know you got to support the team” *David Puddy Voice It was a fun trip, we got to catch up before EGP graduates and then has to get her a RJ or grad school. We took Amtrak and let me tell you, that is the easiest way to travel. No security, All the seats are big and roomy and you can’t beat it. By the way that part of the country is very nice and we need to plan a trip up there in the warmer months. It was a tad chilly on the coast to say the least.

I felt safe knowing that the swimmers were safe with a Life Guard.
Geranium and I scored a Table in the Café for the return trip.

It was fun and great to see EGP, Cali-Sab and Waffle House Girl.

Pictures of the Week – We worked a Full Week this week and we lived to tell about it!

I was wondering why my ass was dragging this morning, then I realized it. Hell, this is the first time in the past 3 weeks that I have had to drag my ass into the city 5 consecutive days. For those of you who do read this worthless dribble and happen to be on Metro North, LIRR or NJT I expect you to fully tell me to “GFY CBT” I get it, you have a longer commute. (NON NEW YORK READERS) – I only have to take 1 to 3 subway stops to get into the city. Seriously, I have the easiest commute in the world.

So New Year, New Me right? Believe it or not, I am actually trying to clean up my act. I am nearing the 49 trips around the sun anniversary. After 50 trips I have to really be careful because I may break a hip or have to go to Canada for free healthcare. Ok enough silliness, here are the pictures that I have had on my iFoam for the past couple of days.

Can’t recall where I snapped this pic but I love that it is our former hood.
EGP is showing me her mad selfie skills.
Sent this to Mary Louise while she was in Spain on the 4th. Her comment back to me was “Did he die?” She isn’t a fan due to a long night Jam session one night at 595.
My Boss – You want to grab a drink? Me – Can’t I am studying for my Blood Test again. She then asked what day I was on my Juice Cleanse.
RJ and Fuck-Tard – You would love our building for obvious reasons!

Hope you have a good weekend and it isn’t as cold as it is going to be here. We are heading to Northwest Arkansas this weekend to see family and friends.

Also Shout out to the Pirate/Beatnik and Time Square Performer who happen to read this worthless dribble. They just completed an important milestone in their ‘remodeling’ project.

Happy Easter Spud! CBT, Mrs. CBT, EGP & Cali-SAB went to Easter Service.

Some of you are expecting an off the cuff comment but let me stop you right now. We went to Catholic Mass on Easter Sunday. Let me say it again for those of you who are in disbelief….. Carbunkle Trumpet Esquire attended High Catholic Mass on Easter Sunday.

What I have failed to mention to you for those of you who are still reading and not in complete disbelief please follow along… We attended church at The Church of St. John Nepomucene down the street from where we live. Were you not raised Roman Catholic or have Brother Joel McGraw for class let me help you again. John Neopomucene was the patron of Czechoslovakia, where he is invoked against floods and against slander.

No big deal right? Well make sure you don’t slurp your morning coffee for this next paragraph. The High Mass that EGP, Cali-SAB, Mrs. Trumpet and I attended was said in the Slavic language. Yes for an hour and a half we sat in full Catholic Mass not knowing a spoken word that was being said. Put it this way, EGP leans over in my direction and mouth whispers; Whisky Tango Foxtrot!  Regardless of the fact that we didn’t know any of the responses or were too petrified we did find out that we were in the company of the Arch Bishop who led this service.

Yep we had the Big Brass for the Slovakian Mass. What did you do on Easter Sunday?

197A5221-Version-3Here is the Church on First Avenue at 66th Street. Didn’t THIS BLOG POST back when we were on our way to the bar and ran into The Pope. This happens to be the church we stood by when he rolled by.

HOLYWEEKNote the Easter Sunday, April 1st service and see the 10:15 offering…Yep Full Slovak Mass I guess we should have paid attention to that.

IMG_9072But we saw The Pope almost 2.5 years ago from this church and walked by it a million times to go see Andi, Jo and Ryan at Baker Street and never did we think to take a look at the mass times….

Happy Easter!

Pictures from Thanksgiving Week (didn’t take a lot of pics)

Had a lot of fun with friends who were in town over Thanksgiving Weekend.

IMG_2255It was kind of chilly and the crowds at Holiday Market on Union Square made my butt twitch so I needed a warmer and something to calm my nerves.

IMG_2243Walked to get EGP at Penn Station and snapped this picture. This is the front of Macy’s where they show the parade.

IMG_2253Christmas decorations at Lillie’s on 17 Street. Hey RJ – We drank there!

IMG_2254If you don’t get into the holiday spirit after drinking here you have something wrong with you.

IMG_2250I thought that EGP was going to have a stroke when I purchased a Tall Boy Bud Light for the Train ride to Woodlawn. I told her it was tradition.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Loser Lounge Tribute to George Michael

It has literally taken me a full week to finally formalize words to describe what I saw this past Friday. We have seen many a good losers lounge tribute. The Elton John Tribute back in the late 90’s was right up there with the best show seen. That was until this past Good Friday.

From Anna Copa Cabanna starting the set on a patrons table singing “Wake me up before you Go-Go” to Kalia Floreska’s version of “Careless Whisper” it was a helluva show. Naturally “Freedom 90” with the entire cast dancing with the audience was fun then there was “I want your sex”. Let me jus say that it is good to know that EGP is one of us because when dude threw down his velvet coat and revealed the banana hammock and assless chaps…..I am glad to know I won’t be the reason that EGP needs therapy when she gets into her mid 30’s.

Probably the funniest/off color song was Julian Maile’s “Heal the Pain” where he gave the great line “So Jesus died today but he will be back in 3 days. Pretty much anything goes!” Oh come on, you laughed at that. I know you did.  I am going to stop right there because I hear thunder in the distance.

IMG_0658I have seen some interesting Tie Bars before but this one looks a little restricting.

IMG_0660 - CopyAnyone wearing an 18″ cross around your neck on Good Friday has to know how to party right?

IMG_0663You know they have to have “Careless Whisper” the iconic saxophone George Michael Song.

img_2632Fiona didn’t want any part of the picture. We were going to send it as our Christmas Card this year but it would just confuse a lot of people.
