Maya

Pictures of the Week

So I started putting notes together for the Blog post on our trip to Dale Hollow. I haven’t published it yet because I want to have my proofreader Kitty put some eyes on it before I publish. Problem is that Kitty is in Belize and she is busy down there.

Anyway here are some pictures from this week and weeks past. Have a good weekend and stay cool Memphis folks. I hear it is hotter than 2 rats fucking in a wool sock down there.

Many Thanks to you who reached out to me and my family on the loss of Little Michael. He will be missed by many.
It is tough being Maya
George from 38P wanted to come say hello to Maya.

Random Pictures on The Phone

Been busy for us during Christmas Season here in the big city. With the holidays rapidly approaching we have been busy getting gifts and naturally sending them to Memphis wrapped. Note to self – when sending a box to your mothers house and she has moved it may be a good idea to get the correct address. Thankfully FedEx was able to correct the address and the customer service agent didn’t laugh at me too bad.

This week we are busy with Holiday parties (Mary Louise’s old work peeps) and we have some other events to attend this weekend. Mary Louise heads back to Seattle on Tuesday so it will be just me and the dog for the week. I will keep you posted. Anyway here are some pictures that I have had for the past couple of weeks.

Broke Out the 3 Piece Suit the other day since it was Ball Shrinking Cold

The Nephew was trying to get a little too Cute with Uncle CBT and Aunt Mary Louise on his Christmas List

Caught the Griz Nets Game a couple weeks back with Vivian and Stone

Forgot about this one. Has it really been 7 years Muppet? Now look at you! See you and Tink (who is celebrating her birthday today 12.12)  next fall!

Mr. 3 First Names and Asian Fireman tell me this is a Hazmat/Rescue/Engine that T.O.D.D. used to work on.

Maya likes it when Mary Louise works from Home.

Sent this to St. Aloysius the other day on his birthday.

I will have something better I promise.

Pictures of the Week(s)

Have a good weekend and congrats to the Work Wife (The international one) on getting married this weekend too!

Maya – You want to go “outside”?

I bet if Maya could read this worthless dribble she would be saying; “Nope I am good, I am looking forward to taking a nap!” What Maya didn’t realize when we asked her if she wanted to go outside that we were going to head down to Dumbo (Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass) for the day. She already had a big day by going to the UES to get groomed and then she got to get out and stretch her little legs.

To get down to Dumbo from our home you take the 2/3 Train. I guess I can never be a Supreme Court Justice because we broke the MTA law and didn’t put her in a bag or enclosure. She was tucked in Mary Louise’s arms and was very content making the 3 subway stops to Clarke Street. Once we got out we let her walk and I have to admit that I was concerned how she was going to do with crowds and lots of feet with her 9 inches off the ground. She did pretty good. She would follow me as we walked around and would hide between our legs when we stopped to look around.

IMG_4354Wait you mean I have a choice? I can stay here or go walk 6.6 miles today? Fuck You Paul and Mary Louise!

IMG_4361But First we have to take a Selfie

IMG_4365The Carousel down on the waterfront. And no I am not going to insult your intelligence by saying “This is Jane’s Carousel made by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company” You can read that shit yourself.

IMG_4367Beautiful day for a wedding. These two got married by the banks of the East River.

IMG_4368Resting having a beer and glass of wine admiring the view before heading home.

IMG_4369Here is that Pizza Place they talk about. The line was long to say the least.

IMG_4370To say that Maya was worn out is an understatement.

And before you drop a line and call the ASPCA on my ass know that she stayed in on Sunday.

Pictures of the Week (oh boy)

I am actually going to break this up into 2 pics of the week because if I am going to go to hell I don’t want to be judged because I also made fun of Christmas Trees. This past week was a wild one. I ran into Elegant Elliot twice, I saw a huge violation with the MTA and a bunch of wild stuff happened too! On a personal note, I love living in this city. It is quirky, weird, has strange people living here and it has embraced me with open arms.

IMG_2291I do love the “failing” media up here. Nothing is sacred!

IMG_2280Yes that is a bucket of KFC on the Queens Bound F Train

IMG_2241Soak it in Folks, Soak it in! Technically this dog is in compliance of being in a bag or kennel

IMG_2270And Here is LZ’s customer, I should have called these guys for the aforementioned picture

IMG_2224Very Strange to me, who can leave their clothes in the laundry room for 2 weeks and not need them. I would run out of undershirts after a week.

IMG_2267I love me some of this Little Brown Woman! She and I Snapchat all the time during Sunday Fundays

IMG_2290You know how wonderful it feels to have to purchase Suntan Lotion in December? Mexico bound next week!

IMG_2294Happy 5 years of having this little Monkey Head! I ran the Memphis Half Marathon 5 years ago and we went over to my dad’s house and they got her for me. They asked me what we should name her and this was the year the Mayan calendar was to end. I run a half marathon and the world should end – Hello Maya!

Be on the lookout for a noontime post! And have a good weekend!

Things you learn in a Blizzard

What can I say, 2017 is a year of firsts for Carbunkle Trumpet. No I am not talking about the new president, that was yesterday. What I am talking about is this jacked up weather. Seriously would the person who called Mother Nature a Crack Whore please apologize? Earlier this year I survived the Nor’easter and let me tell you, that sucked. This week they were calling for ‘a significant snow event’ for New York and Long Island. They were calling for a blizzard or white out conditions in the city and we should seek shelter at times. I am sure that you are reading this in Memphis wondering what the hell that means. So did I until yesterday. Anyway here are some things that I learned yesterday during the Snowpocalypse.

  1. Forget that heavy wool coat, get that ski jacket out of the closet. Wet heavy snow and wool are not the greatest combination.
  2. Boots, Boots, Boots – If they aren’t waterproof you might as well wear flip flops.
  3. Seeing is overrated during a blizzard. I saw a bunch of people wearing ski goggles yesterday and it makes perfect sense. I may look into getting a pair.
  4. Some dogs love snow, our dogs…..not so much. I don’t blame them. The snow was high that they had belly rubbing.
  5. If one does not have children then you are instructed to head to the nearest bar. That actually is a law.

img_0269Maddy don’t care about snow, she has to poop!

img_0270This one however, what a diva!

rockyI knew that Rocky over in Park Slope would be a happy pup today!

img_0264Broke out the shit kickers earlier in the week when we had biblical rains.

img_0274Made it into the office for a couple hours so I could say that “I made it in” and promptly went to reward myself.

img_0275W41st street was not looking good. The sidewalk was fine but the street needed some help.

img_0272Wonder why I take Lipitor? This would be the reason.

img_0276Are you F’ing kidding me guys? Closed because of the snow? This would be a perfect day but no! Somebody has to be a P word and stay home.

img_0268I mean even the Chinese restaurant on 2nd Ave was open for Christsake!

img_0267Got to love that someone cross stitched this.

Have a good weekend. We are going to be meeting up with UWS Girl this weekend to go to a silent disco.

The Week(s) in Pictures

Going to put together a “greatest hits” compilation of pics from the past two weeks.

IMG_0381Got to love the West Village Bathrooms and their Graffiti!

IMG_0381How does one bring in a paint brush and do this? I can’t even keep up with my house keys

IMG_0387I asked the boys in the Rig if they had an “Asian Fireman” and they said he was off. #howodd

IMG_0388We had snow on one evening and then the next day we had 50 degrees and rain.

IMG_0394Wine Bottle down! Wine Bottle Down!

IMG_0404They hate each other, yeah right…

IMG_0353Showed them the previous pic of the dogs and they giggled at me.

IMG_0409I do love me a lox and cream cheese bagel from these guys.

IMG_0411This picture just makes me happy! It is my new screen saver on my iFoam.

Have a good weekend! We are supposed to have killer > 55 degree weather tomorrow!

Fellow Bloggers You Should Read Series

Part of the “New Year-New Me” I figured I would try to show a new aspect of “You mean to tell me that you….” blog would be to introduce my 3 readers to fellow bloggers that I read/stalk. It is my goal to highlight a different blogger bi-monthly and have some fun with it. I came up with the questions while sitting on the can.  It is my plan to send the questionnaire to the different bloggers and friends of bloggers. By all means please when I do highlight a different blogger please click on their blog and show them some love, it so lonely here. So to get things started I figured I would showcase the questions and answer them for you. Oh by the way: Scoop, Taco Girl, Professor Ryburn and Yoga Peach, be on the lookout for an email from me. You have been singled out selected first.

Let’s Talk about you shall we?

    1. Who you be? My psychiatrist and I have been trying to figure that out for a while
    2. Where you be? The mean streets of the Upper East Side of Manhattan
    3. Where did you come from? (please don’t say hospital or parents) Memphis, TN
    4. Care to talk about your family or if you have any ankle biters/pot lickers (pets) where you charge your laptop/tablet? There is Mrs. Trumpet and we have 2 tiny toy poodles, Maddy and Maya
    5. Name up to 5 countries/places you visited, loved and recommend to my readers? San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, Belize, Isla Mujeres Mexico, St. Thomas, USVI, New Orleans, LA, and Senatobia, MS (just seeing if you are still reading)
    6. What countries/cities you have on your radar for future travel locations? Greece, Morocco, Columbia and Italy
    7. If you had the financial means to do so, where would you like to live and why? Some shack on the beach on some quiet island in the Caribbean. Naturally, I would need to have a good supply of Cigars, cold beer and rum.
    8. When you aren’t banging on a keyboard what do you like to do for fun? Exploring New York
    9. We know that you read carbunkletrumpet.wordpress.com (who doesn’t?) but who else do you read/stalk on a daily basis? www.tacogirl.com, www.sanpedroscoop.com, www.paulryburn.com, www.yogapeach.com
    10. Could you get me an introduction with that author so that I can send them this questionnaire?  Yeah, don’t be surprised if you get an email from me in the next month or so.

Fun/Random Stuff that you would like to share with the class

  • What is your favorite food and restaurant (doesn’t have to be in your current location) Blue Water Grill in San Pedro Belize!
  • If you are living abroad, what is the one thing that you miss the most? It is a trade off, I miss some restaurants in Memphis but the food up here is so good that you can’t get it in Memphis so it is 50-50
  • Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (please don’t say older) Who knows, hopefully living below the 17th parallel but that day will come one of these days.
  • What’s on your bucket list? Running with the bulls in Spain (suck on this PETA)
  • What is the question do you want to ask Carbunkle Trumpet (I promise to answer honestly) Can you really hammer a 10 inch railroad spike into concrete with your schmeckle? WHO TOLD YOU, I THOUGHT THAT VIDEO WAS DELETED!

They won’t let me take Selfie’s anymore….at least not in the nude!
