Della Forte’s Camera Kicks Some Serious Ass!

Happy Monday Folks! And don’t let your eyes fool you. You are actually reading a past weekend post on a Monday. Like I said last week, Geranium is away all week and I got left alone on Sunday afternoon. Also The Murphranks were out of town so instead of having some Sunday Funday I worked on this worthless Dribble.

This past Friday Vivian coordinated a field trip on the Circle Line Boat Tour for the WFUV Disco Boat Cruise. Or as My (former) Work Wife (The Domestic One) said to me; “Oh you are on a booze cruise.” This past Friday we had bonus because not only was it a Friday the 13th but it also was a Harvest Moon. Let me tell you. Seeing a full Moon on the Hudson and East River….it Fucking Rocked.

Now while we were snapping pictures I couldn’t help but notice how sharp and clear the pictures on Della Forte’s Samsung foam. I realized right then that I would ask her to send me some pictures so I promptly put my phone away and decided to drink cold beer instead.

Here are some great pictures from Friday Night.

This is my camera. Notice the crappy blob of a moon?
This is from my iFoam and I was playing around with the camera functions

Seriously Della’s Foam Kicked Ass!

Have a good week and be nice to each other. Except for Brett Kavanaugh. He is a rapist and should be put in shackles. Debate me on this. I dare you.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2019

A while back Vivian asked if we wanted to get some tickets to attend the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at Barclays. *disclaimer – I really didn’t understand the question but considering it was 2 blocks from our studio I agreed.* When we got closer to the event I was kind of luke warm then I was on a subway and did a google of who was being inducted;

  • The Cure (never saw them live)
  • Def Leppard (saw them in the Mid South Coliseum when I was a child and the drummer had 2 arms)
  • Janet Jackson (I vaguely remember the wardrobe malfunction)
  • Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac show at BSMF many moons ago)
  • Radiohead (saw them at MSG 2 years ago, killer show)
  • Roxy Music (they broke up in 2011 so the answer was no)
  • The Zombies (Negative)

Holy Crap! I get to see Roxy Music, The Cure, Def Leppard, Stevie Nicks Solo and I don’t have to stand at an overpriced music festival in Palm Springs or New Orleans? Color me up Baby! Let me just say right now that (and I am not sure if it goes back to Cleveland next year) if you are a music fan then you need to do this! Sadly Radiohead and Janet didn’t play the event but HOLY FUCKING SHIT Stevie Nicks had Don Henley do a song with her. Then Harry Stiles (Still don’t know who he is or care) did the Tom Petty Duet with Stevie and it was killer.

The downside to the show is that it is long. But then if you can say that you were in the same room as; Steven VanZant, Trent Reznor, David Byrne, Susanna Hoffs of the Bangles, Brian May of Queen, Simon LeBon and John Taylor from Duran Duran and Harry Stiles it is bonus too. Sadly I didn’t get any great pics of the shows as it is a copyright infringement but here are the approved pics.

The tables are where the VIP’s sit but I don’t really think there is any dining going on. We by the way were sitting in a box centerfield thanks to American Express.
Stephanie Lynn Nicks killed it! She may be a robot when it comes to her show (she thought that Harry Stiles was in a different band) but she is the consummate performer.
Saw these boys over at MSG. I only know 3 songs but they had a great speech.
Oh David Byrne was inducting them into the hall. How fucking cool is that!
I only know of 5 songs these guys do (and 3 of them are on the Alex’s Tavern’s Juke Box but to say that I saw a reunited show just for the Hall of Fame. What you got boys? Have you see Roxy Music live?
Roxy Music put on a great show and sounded like they didn’t break up at all!
If you graduated from SAA, SDS, IC, MUS, Hutchison, or St. Mary’s you would have known who these boys were. Duran Duran!
Texted my father a pic of Silvio inducting the R&R HOF Singles groups and his comment was “He isn’t country is he?”
Saw the Robert Smith interview where he destroyed the reporter about being excited. I assure you readers that he was very humble when he was accepting the induction. Still scary as shit with that get up!
The Lead Up to Janet’s induction. We were under the impression she was going to perform.
Janet Jackson’s speech. Let’s just say that she was a tad off.
Did you know the lead singer of the Bangles is 60. I am kinda feeling old.
5 band performing means 5 monitor worlds. Plus the MC stuff and the BOH world. This was impressive to see from a birds eye view. “Robo to Allison or Harmony”
FYI – he was the only one who didn’t have a teleprompter for his induction of Def Leppard. Maybe he should tell 46-1 how to do this.
Rule #1 for being a Rock and Roll Band – Don’t get fat or lose your hair!

Like I said, it was a great night and I can’t wait to see how HBO does this show.

Pictures of the Week – Mid Day Friday Post

Apologies to my 15 readers. I now realize that I gave you 5 posts in a row last week and nothing till today. We were kind of busy last week but here are some pictures from last weekend and now.

IMG_4535Our “Tony Award Winning Cousin” lives here now a days. Got to spend some time with her last week. She is a good bean.

IMG_4530Went down to Sutton Square Park on 58th Street. Nice view from the park if you ask me

IMG_4529Sutton Place/Square has their own private entrance. I don’t even want to inquire about the cost of living here. *We lived at 71st/1st and this joint is 58th/Sutton (name change from York)* This is truly bougie UES living

IMG_4527Vivian, Landlord, Mr. 3 First Names, Mary Louise and I may have eaten these last Sunday. The Radish on a BBQ Nacho kind of bugs me

IMG_4524What can I say folks…Being around Robo make one Shine!

Have a good weekend folks. Please don’t get butt-hurt if we don’t post a lot next week either. We are supposed to have a Nor’Easter this weekend.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Northeast.

Weekends in New York can really suck ya know?

You recall when I was whining like a little bitch talking on Monday about having MPH and I was glad it was back to work? I better give you the cliff notes because if I went went blow by blow on each night then some of you may want to have an intervention. Trust me when I say that the RJ Fun-O-Meter was pegged pretty much every night.

Friday Night was the wedding and dance recital of Z(Squared) at the Boat House in Central Park. The Asian Fireman and Realtor Wife were in attendance as well as Muphranks. The Work Wife (The Managing one) was there with her Midtown Uniform wearing husband as well as a bunch of other Time Square double decker tour bus ticket sales reps. The wedding was short, to the point and everyone said yes. The food, the never emptying glasses of wine, the band, and even dancing were a great and then when the glow sticks came out……aww shit it was on like Donkey Kong!!! Many thanks to Lady Barrister for remaining awake to navigate our safe arrival to Downtown Brooklyn. I hope that Mary Louise didn’t snore too bad. Truth be told Mr. 3 First Names and I weren’t really sleeping, we were just resting our eyes. Congrats to Z(squared) on making it legal and thanks for a great party.

Hey D(squared) at AMF/HQ on Tully Street in Crime-Free New Chicago – call me this week. I saw a really cool thing at this party that you may want to consider it for your next Thanksgiving Wedding. #RoboCares

Saturday day was spent relaxing and celebrating Mary Louie’s anniversary of circling the sun. That evening we attended the Losers Lounge rendition of Barry Manilow & Bette Midler. I learned something very important about this show. Apologies to my homosexual readers but I found out that I really don’t like the music of Barry Manilow. I mean other than Copacabana his stuff is just crap. Here is where I am going to further upset you more – any rendition of Bette Midler and the movie “Beaches” really needs to Fucking Stop also.

Sunday was spent yet again with a music theme and as luck would have it we got to hang with Vivian Longstreet and Della Forte again. We saw them Saturday night and then when we arrived at the Barclays for Phil Collins they were also in the same suite we were in. Phil Collins was great and his voice is the same and even though he was recuperating from back surgery which slowed him down a bit his 17 year old son played the Drums. Great Show and we were glad that we decided to attend the show.

IMG_4467Yep, we are in Black Tie heading to the event stuck in traffic

IMG_4469I am so glad that Mr. 3 First Names, Asian Fireman and I sat down at someone else’s table because the amount of glassware full of booze is really appalling. We all drank mineral water that night.

IMG_4473You can always tell a good night out by what you purchase the next day for lunch. Work Wife (Managing One) got World Famous Halal guys on Saturday. We opted for $50 worth of greasy Mexican Food and a nap.

IMG_4482Anna Copacabana singing what else? Copacabana and it was great.

Image-1Yes that was Phil singing “In the Air Tonight” after the drum solo! Boom!

IMG_4500Whole Band Killing It. If you can see a show I highly encourage you to go see him.

Like I said it really was a shitty weekend in New York. I hope that we get to do it again.

Losers Lounge Tribute to The Bee Gees

After a summer hiatus the losers assembled once again at Joe’s Pub and naturally the Loser groupies got a table. This show was a tribute to those Australian boys and Disco Inferno super group The Bee Gees. We were missing some from our group so we invited Vivian Longstreet and her husband to join us. The First set was kind of a yawner as they played a bunch of ‘deep cuts’ that we enjoyed but come on, its a disco band. Play the stuff we know! Needless to say the Second act was much better and Vivian even joined the band and sang a duet with some schmo. “Islands in the Stream” was their choice and even though WordPress won’t allow me to upload the video it is a shame. Vivian killed it.

IMG_1932We were in the back this time. I swear we have not sat in the same seat in this joint.

IMG_1933Opening Song

IMG_1939Who doesn’t love a little Bee Gees A Cappella?

IMG_1941Belize and ACMB Fans (lets see if any of you feckers read this) Doesn’t the Bongo Player look like Ken F of Ken and Mel? Sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. He will be missed.

IMG_1945Yep I was texting UWS Holly who was +6 hours ahead of us in South Africa. It was worth it!

IMG_1947Even Bjarni/Clem was impressed with their rendition of “Grease” or Lubricant as they said they were to be singing.

IMG_1948Vivian getting ready to slay the dragon!

IMG_1950She did great!

IMG_1951Ahem Maria, can you get me a copy of that!

IMG_1952The incomparable Anna Copacabana!

IMG_1956Joe Closing us out!

Hope you had a good weekend! If anyone knows how to take better pics at a concert please let me know. I suck at this.
